Lyngmo Youth center

Lyngmo Ungomssenter is a campsite located by Hafslovatnet in Luster municipality. It is only 4 km to Solvorn and the Sognefjord and about 15 minutes to Gaupne and Sogndal.

History and core operations

Lyngmo was built in 1965 and is still owned by the Norwegian Missionary Association and the Norwegian Missionary Association. The camp has had 3 major renovations and expansions. The last in 2016 when a new wing with bedrooms, prayer rooms, gymnasium and sanitary facilities for cabin and camping guests was completed.

The camp was built to accommodate Christian camps and events for children and youth. Later, the operation has developed into a varied work for children, youth, families, adults and the elderly. Lyngmo has employed its own child and youth workers and runs the camp work from the camp site. The child and youth workers also visit the Christian children and youth groups in Indre Sogn. On Lyngmo I want to be a good host who provides good food and good facilities.

I want that Lyngmo should be a relevant and well-known place locally Hafslo , regionally in Sogn and elsewhere in the country. That is why we have a varied operation with many different offers:

Hafslo : Our children's teams with the Knøttekoret, the Thursday Club and the Toddlers' Club are important to us.

Sogn: The camp work and other children and youth work is a prioritized part of the operation

Norway: Nokre leiarar / festivalar gathers people from all over the country.

Rental and other operations

In addition to our non-profit events, we raise funds for operations by renting out the city for accommodation, camping, parties and conferences.

Lyngmo Guesthouse and Camping is our summer venture and Lyngmo has become a popular place for tourists. Lyngmo does not have a profit goal and the funds that come in from the summer operation go back to carrying out events. This allows us to continue to run the camp work, which is the purpose of Lyngmo .

Gifts and volunteering

Lyngmo is dependent on support in the form of volunteer work (between 4 and 5 full-time equivalents) and income from donations, bazaars, etc. in order to facilitate good and varied work with children and youth.
