Lyngmo Youth Center

Lyngmo Ungomssenter is a campsite located by Hafslovatnet in Luster municipality. It is only 4 km to Solvorn and the Sognefjord and about 15 minutes to Gaupne and Sogndal.

History and core operations

Lyngmo was built in 1965 and is still owned by Misjonssambandet and Indremisjonsforbundet. The campsite has had 3 major renovations and expansions. The most recent in 2016, when a new wing with bedrooms, prayer rooms, gymnasium and sanitary facilities for cabin and camping guests was completed.

The campsite was built to facilitate Christian camps and events for children and young people. Since then, the operation has developed into varied work for children, young people, families, adults and the elderly. Lyngmo has employed its own children's and youth workers and runs the camp work from the campsite. The children's and youth workers also visit the Christian children's and youth teams in Indre Sogn. At Lyngmo, we want to be a good host that provides good food and good facilities.

We want Lyngmo to be a relevant and well-known place locally in Hafslo, regionally in Sogn and elsewhere in the country. That's why we have a varied operation with many different offerings:

Hafslo: Our children's teams with the Knøttekoret, Thursday Club and Småbarnstreff are important to us.

Sogn: The camp work and other children and youth work is a prioritized part of the operation

Norway: Nokre leiarar / festivalar gathers people from all over the country.

Rental and other operations

In addition to our non-profit events, we raise funds for operations by renting out the city for accommodation, camping, parties and conferences.

Lyngmo Gjestehus og Camping is our summer venture and Lyngmo has become a popular place for tourists. Lyngmo does not have a profit target, and the funds that come in from summer operations are used to run events. This means that we can continue to run the camp work that is the purpose of Lyngmo.

Gifts and volunteering

Lyngmo is dependent on support in the form of voluntary work (between 4 and 5 man-years) and income from donations, bazaars and more to be able to facilitate good and varied work with children and young people.
